Medical Camp Overview.
In April 2025, a significant medical camp was organized at Better Days Primary School, a vital initiative aimed at promoting the health and well-being of the children enrolled there. This event was executed, with a focus on providing essential health screenings for various medical conditions that are prevalent in the region, particularly malaria and skin diseases, which can severely impact the children's quality of life and educational experience.

The medical camp was staffed by a dedicated team of at least five qualified doctors and nurses. Their roles included conducting thorough health screenings and performing blood tests on pupils ranging from Primary One to Primary Five. This comprehensive approach ensured that every child received individual attention, allowing for the early detection of potential health issues that could hinder their academic and personal development.
Cases Identified
During the screenings, approximately five cases of malaria were identified among the pupils. This finding is particularly concerning, as malaria remains a significant health challenge in many regions of Uganda, especially for young children who are more susceptible to its severe effects. In response to these detections, Better Days is committed to providing the necessary treatment for those affected, including medication and follow-up care. Additionally, we recognize the importance of addressing the underlying sources of these occurrences, such as stagnant water and inadequate sanitation, to prevent future outbreaks and protect the health of all children at the school.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our generous donors whose contributions made this medical camp possible. Their support has been instrumental in enabling us to provide essential medical care to the orphaned children at Better Days. Without their kindness and commitment to improving the lives of these vulnerable children, this initiative would not have been feasible. We request for their continued support and donations to sustain and improve on the already made progress.
Our way forward.
Looking to the future, we are determined to continue organizing such medical camps on a regular basis. Our goal is to ensure that all children at Better Days Primary School have access to necessary health services, thereby fostering a safe and healthy learning environment. By prioritizing the health of these children, we not only enhance their educational experiences but also contribute to their overall development and well-being. We believe that with sustained efforts and community support, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of these young learners.
